The Story Behind Sonoma
Sonoma is located at Sears Point in the southern mountains of northern California, famous for its vineyards and the Sonoma Raceway. The Sonoma Raceway road course features 12 turns on a hilly course with 160 feet (49 m) of total elevation change. It hosts one of the seven NASCAR Cup Series races. Sonoma is in the heart of wine country, so it’s only fitting that the winner of the race sips some local spirits from a chalice in Victory Lane. The goblet was handcrafted by a local glass blower and introduced in 2006.
